It's a total disgrace isn't it? One of the many reasons why top level modern football is a bit rubbish. The process sounded completely undemocratic and wasn't a proper consultation at all. Shame on the FA and Premier League.

Why the Premier League felt the need to involve themselves in the first and second rounds is beyond me.

My only assumption is to either move the 3rd round earlier or to move the league cup games earlier without any potential clash. How replays are scraped before a 2 legged league cup semi final is pretty bonkers.
