Hampton were quick off the mark and had the ball in the net after just six minutes, however it was chalked off for a foul on Scrivens. As it was, it was Sutton that took the lead. Joel Ledgister showed instant control in a tight space to place the ball past Ross. Just before half-time Hampton had a good shout for a penalty but the referee waved play on. In the 55th minute, Obamwony fouled Moone in the box and Simmonds put the resulting penalty away. Sutton were now down to ten men as Obamwony was dismissed for the offence. Sutton regained the lead eight minutes later, Ledgister, again, seizing on a flicked header, 2-1. Credit to Hampton as they gradually made the man advantage tell and on 73 minutes an O’Donnell cross was deflected past Scrivens by Moone, for the equaliser. Both sides went close for a winner, Sutton’s Ledgister was denied by an excellent save by Ross, whilst Beadle sent a late header narrowly wide.

Joel Ledgister later played for us think on loan mostly. Always thought he was a very good player but perhaps a little moody?
