Preview from our visitors.

Last home game of the year. We don’t want any banana skins as we are in fine form!
Mel as he has in the past, might make a few changes to give some players a rest, considering our holiday fixtures with two games with Slough who have an unbeaten home form of 11 games.
I would not be surprised if we see one or both of the latest signings get a start or off the bench.

5th versus 4th in the form league so should be a close game. Will take us to exactly halfway in the league programme.

Couldn't be there again today, still recuperating, but 2-1 against Weston sounds like a very good result. What a brilliant run this is, full credit deserved by management and players.

Great win. Should’ve had more really, their shooting was pretty poor and their keeper made some good saves. A great win against an inform side, merry christmas!

In the end a hard won three points. Excellent first half from both sides with flowing football and chances at both ends. Seymour poached two goals and had a couple of other chances. We looked dangerous going forward but Weston had plenty to offer without that many direct efforts on goal. Their equaliser came from one of the many crosses to the back post but we hit back pretty quickly. Towards the end of the half we began to get pushed back and that was the pattern for much of the second half as well. We couldn’t get much to stick but Weston didn’t make the best of their possession although a second equaliser remained a possibility. Revan and Anifowose came on for their debut and the latter injected some much needed energy into midfield that augurs well if that is typical of his play. We saw out the game but it was a tough game against a decent side that perhaps just lacked a finisher to reflect their second half dominance. We are second which is a remarkable turnaround since Lewes.

Its been a brilliant second half of 2023 and lets hope this continues into 2024.
Happy Christmas all!

Yes a tough games against a good, fooballing team who had plenty of possession but lack the final goal threat so Desbois whilst involved, did not have that many meaningful saves to make. Reid was the focal point of most of their attacks using his strength and experience to hold the ball up.
Seymour got the goals and he and Bloomfield are always dangerous. Their keeper made:more important saves.than ours.
We saw for the first time Revan who slotted in a right back allowing Thomas to play more attacking wide which suits him. Revan need time to get used to our system, but might prove useful once match fit. Anifowose came on a looks like he is a good player.
Good result against an in form team.

I thought Revan was playing CB but, in any case, not shy at going forward himself. On at least one occaision, JT was dropping to cover for him.

WSM looked a decent side going forward and almost took the lead in the first minute, with a header, but that kind of summed up their play, as apart from their goal, and an effort that was either cleared off the line or hit the post they didn't have a shot on target as they had numerous efforts, from good positions that didn't trouble Desbois.
We took the lead through Ben Seymour, after the assistant had very briefly flagged, for I presume what he thought may have been a foul, some of the WSM players had stopped playing, but the goal was given, which then saw the entire visiting team surround the assistant, and also their manager.
WSM equalised following a cross from the right which was met by the totally unseen Rex Mannings.
Hampton retook the lead just over the mid point of the first half with Seymour's second, which may have taken a final touch off of a defender.
Weston started the second half brightly, with again having some good build up play, but no end result.
Hampton had the better, clearer chances, and Max Harris made a couple of good saves.
The two new signings, Dominic Revan and Joshua Anifowose, came of the bench and looked very useful.
Another very good attendance of 1,335.
Unbeaten run stretches to fifteen, with a couple of tough games against current form table leaders, Slough Town to come on Boxing Day and New Year's Day.
