THOSE WERE THE DAYS
5th December 2009
Football Conference (Blue Square) South
Dorchester Town 2 HRBFC 1 Att; 427
Wells
Matt Lovett; Marcello Fernandes, Craig Tanner, Orlando Jeffrey, John Scarborough, Dean Wells, Stuart Lake, Nathan Collier, Craig Dundas, Lawrence Yaku (Barrie Matthews, 65), Ashley Smith (Dave Tarpey, 73).
Unused Subs; Dean Inman, Ian Hodges
And it all started so well. The Beavers looked dangerous from the get-go, Dundas looked lively and Tanner raiding down the left wing. 18 minutes into the contest and Beavers were in front. Smith’s accurate cross found an unmarked Wells and he guided a header past the Dorchester keeper, Coward. Yaku and Tanner both went close to extending the lead. The second half was a different story. In the 61st minute Ryan Hill scored with a free-kick to equalise. Worse was to follow shortly after when Wells was sent off for a strong challenge on Kyle Critchell. Almost immediately after, Groves made it 2-1. The loss dropped the Beavers down to 18th place.
