1 up HT, started well but since goal it’s been all Southall though haven’t created much for all the possession they have had. Manager can’t be pleased with what he is seeing

Need a second goal otherwise we are so vulnerable to an equaliser.

Won 2-1 thanks to a last minute Deadfield goal. Await reports.

Wow they made it? Now let’s draw Hanworth Villa for a local bun fight!

Well where to start with that one...we simply weren't very good. In a disjointed and misfiring performance we didn't always look secure and when the inevitable goal was given away by what looked like a bit of a calamitous defensive mix up, the game could have swung either way, as Southall tried hard, battled well and occasionally looked a bit worrying on the break. Thank goodness then for Deadfield's superb strike right near the death. We'll need to play a lot better than that if we're going to go much further in the cup though.

Just got back.

Brief summary.

A very poor performance, but a fabulous strike from Deadfield to win it.

Yes, another disappointing display only enlivened by two very good goals from Seymour and Deadfield. For much of the game Southall looked the better passing side but lacked a quality final ball. We had one ‘goal’ rightly chalked off for offside but did little to impress up front. Southall were less effective in the second half but our ability to create an opposition goal out of nothing led to Debois caught in no man’s land with the Southall forward heading over him into an empty net. A replay looked a fair outcome until Deadfield hit a worldie into the top corner. Credit to Southall they stopped us playing and looked more up for it than we did.

Thanks for the reports, sounds like another poor game. Unless there are some major changes, the season will turn out to be one of struggle, where that sits with the new regime is obvious.

I thought, given their limitations, Southall did quite a good job against us. It's not difficult to see where our problems are though.

Mel’s comments after the game are starting to fall into a similar pattern, (bit like Gary’ Mc.!) It would seem we do repeat the same errors. Consequently our opposition are waiting to capitalise on them.
How to change is the manager ‘s problem, it might need some adjusting of the squad?

thought Bloomfield played very well and Seymour v sharp.. two very good players just need to play to their strengths.. though we struggled in midfield and Cheadle struggled for pace..
