THOSE WERE THE DAYS
February 4th 2014
Isthmian League (Ryman) Premier Division
Metropolitan Police 1 HRBFC 3 (Att; 162)
Moone 2, Tarpey

It was always good to get one over the ‘Old Bill’, even though in recent years there are more coppers in a squad car than in their team.
Rodney Chiweshe; Tommy Brewer, George Wells, Stuart Lake, Alex Finney (Darren Powell, 74’), Justyn Roberts, Luke Wanadio (Ben Harris, 71’), Karle Carder, Dave Tarpey, Charlie Moone, Joe Turner.
Unused subs; James Simmonds, Belal Aite-Quakrim & Lawson Okimeji.

In their careers Moone & Tarpey scored 118 and 56 goals, respectively – though not always in partnership. On this occasion they both contributed to the win. Moone opened the scoring in the 18th minute, thanks to a floated free kick from Tarpey, the hosts equalising in added time at the end of the half. Tarpey weighed in with a strike in the 73rd minute and right on the stroke of full time, with Met Police at full stretch, Moone broke away and scored his second and Hampton’s third.

How about some memories from the 1960's . Surrey Senior league. And Spartan league matches.

I don’t think Les was around at that time, there are match details in Tony’s book. Might be able to get my hands on some but it might depend on what folk want.

Patience, dear boy. I've only posted two so far! The further back you go the less info there is about team line-ups, scores and match reports. Also depends on the date!
