A game in the short-lived Conference League Cup (sponsored by the equally short-lived Setanta Sports). Three goals in a five-minute spell really settled matters in Hampton’s favour. Godfrey and Quarm combined to send McAuley on his way and an imperious finish past Dominic Behcet; Inns headed home a Matthews cross and when Jamie Cumming pulled down Paris in the penalty area (what was he doing there?), Godfrey converted the penalty. Just before the break Jones Awuah got Dorchester onto the score-sheet. McAuley secured his first senior hat trick with two goals in the second half. Hodges provided McAuley with his second and his third was thanks to an incisive pass by Quarm. Nine minutes from time Ivan Forbes put some respectability to Dorchester’s performance when he lobbed Lovett. One of those contests when five goals was okay but in terms of dominance could have been a few more.
