Hampton twice behind to win a nine-game thriller. Bayliss lobbed the opener for the Beavers but the visitors quickly responded twice to lead at half time. Rattue converted a penalty in the 52nd minute but Banstead restored their lead on the hour mark. Collyer made it 3-3 with a header before Wilson scored Hampton’s fourth. Smith then made it 5-3 with ten minutes to go. Banstead responded with their fourth with a few minutes left. A see-saw encounter that kept the Beavers on course for promotion.
