A 2-0 win to end pre-season, majority of the team comprised of trialists.

Goals were an own goal after a quick corner to Hayden Barrett caught Raynes Park napping and his cross went in off a defender and a goal scored by an unknown trialist who rebounded in a shot from another trialist. At 1-0, we missed a penalty after Hayden Barrett, who won the penalty after being tripped in the area, had his shot comfortably saved. Late on, we conceded a penalty after a trialist brought down their attacker via a pretty clumsy challenge. Penalty was saved straight down the middle and cleared.

I thought the trialist who played wide down the right was very good, think his name was Christian? Unfortunately he went off injured in the second half.

Turns out the impressive trialist right winger was Kristian Shevchenko!! Just been released by Watford apparently

He used to play for Ascot United Youth before going to Chelsea's Academy. When I was coaching Youth football my Hampton team played against Ascot on several occassions and had the very odd sight of standing on the touchline with Andrei Shevchenko on the opposite side with the Ascot parents!
