Beveree, NOT The Beveree
Saw this tweet from Billericay and even though I’ve never heard people call their ground “The New Lodge,” I thought how much it annoys me when other fans call our ground “The Beveree.” I know I am not alone in this either, would be nice to see if the club put a similar tweet out. https://x.com/btfc/status/2053209127787 ... Well done to Billericay Town for highlighting this, I know little about their club but it makes me think its well run.
"The Beveree" annoys me as well, as does the more informal "The Bev". One of the reasons I was keen to take on running the forum when the previous admin stood down was that I wanted to correct the name from "The Beveree" as it used to be called, to "Beveree Chat". Liverpool don't play at "The Anfield", Aberdeen don't play at "The Pittodrie" and Hampton don't play at "The Beveree".

I know what you mean...I guess "The Bev" comes from "The Beveree Stadium" as it now seems to be referred to. It was always just "Beveree."TW2-Beaver wrote: Tue May 12, 2026 7:59 am Well done to Billericay Town for highlighting this, I know little about their club but it makes me think its well run.

However...the biggest gripe I still have is the club name, the "and Richmond Borough" suffix. I really wish there was more appetite to just be called Hampton FC again and if there were one thing I'd actively campaign to change it would probably be that.
another mistake it's not "and Richmond Borough"Lord Elpus wrote: Tue May 12, 2026 12:09 pmI know what you mean...I guess "The Bev" comes from "The Beveree Stadium" as it now seems to be referred to. it's "& Richmond Borough"
and it certainly isn't
"Hampton & Richmond" and parts of the club website etc still has this left over from the previous regime.

Agreed, that is by far the biggest gripe.Lord Elpus wrote: Tue May 12, 2026 12:09 pm However...the biggest gripe I still have is the club name, the "and Richmond Borough" suffix. To be honest I think most fans do prefer Hampton FC, it is particularly noteworthy that the large group of younger fans behind the goal all seem to be in favour of reverting to Hampton FC (they have designed several flags, the majority of which reference Hampton FC, and they join in with the various "anti-Richmond" songs that get trotted out). I say this is noteworthy because one might assume that more recent recruits would prefer the status quo to the past, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Ah, but is your pedantry correct Jamie? Its a ridiculous situation, but with Companies House we appear to be "and", while with the FA we appear to be "&"Jamie wrote: Tue May 12, 2026 2:17 pm another mistake it's not "and Richmond Borough"

...yet more evidence that this ridiculous, confusing and cumbersome name needs dropping!
How about The Hampton FCTW2-Beaver wrote: Tue May 12, 2026 9:16 pmAgreed, that is by far the biggest gripe.Lord Elpus wrote: Tue May 12, 2026 12:09 pm However...the biggest gripe I still have is the club name, the "and Richmond Borough" suffix.
