Currently 1-1 with a few minutes to go. Grego-Cox with the goal.
FT 1-1 another point but still leaves us in the dogfight.
AFC Totton
Ok result, just noticed Bath have 4 games on us and Farnborough two so we have to start catching the teams above us. The keeper is clearly a great signing and will make a difference. We have a lot of strikers but only Grego-Cox scores regularly and he rarely plays 90mins. We don't really score enough goals. Dowse knows this but am
not sure he will be able to sign another forward given the size of the squad now. But up top is our weakness.

Good result, second half we dominated but sadly our forward line lets us down. Bath and Eastbourne are massive. Side note, Totton were a horrible side, from players to fans, both crying anytime someone fell on the floor, topped off with one of their fans throwing a drink at the lino. Horrid club, and glad to leave.
Football web pages predicted final table has us staying up by virtue of one goal difference on 47 points. So far under Dowse we have 13 points from 12 games. 14 games left we are on 33 points. 50 points is usually enough so need 1.2 points per game to reach that target.
I would take that now Tony!Tony wrote: Wed Feb 18, 2026 7:41 am Football web pages predicted final table has us staying up by virtue of one goal difference on 47 points. AFC Totton...let's start with mentioning the weirdest entry I've ever had to a football ground. Spotted at least two perfectly serviceable looking turnstiles around but none of them were open at any point, so everyone had to enter through the offices/club shop which made for unnecessary queuing for everyone, and all in the same queue, whether they'd paid in advance or not.
The game itself...Totton are unfortunately another of those sides, like Dorking etc, who spend all their time surrounding the ref in protest whenever an opposition player goes anywhere near them, kicking the ball away after giving away a throw in and collapsing like they'd been hit by a sniper after the most innocuous of tackles or contact. And the crowd...what an entitled, moaning, aggressive and confrontational bunch. Don't think I'll bother with this trip next season if we stay up.
Turning to our performance, after our nicely crafted goal we somewhat gave them a (well taken) equaliser on a plate and neither side really looked like winning after that. Taking off Kiernan and Grego-Cox pretty much robbed us of any surprise or creativity up front, as it does in any game.
The season is starting to catch up with us a bit...we undoubtedly do look a bit stronger and more resilient than we did under Julian but we need to start getting a few more wins here and there. I wouldn't want to depend on goal difference to stay up when we don't score anywhere near enough.

Plenty of changes to the starting xi last night. Interesting that Thomas got the nod ahead of Longe-King especially in hindsight of how we conceded.
On another night though we could have been down been down to 10 as Vaz took out an attacker as the last man. A former colleague I bumped into was down that end and said our covering defender was no where near but did say the Totton bloke looked a few yards offside.
Another point but need a win down at Bath now. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Fasanmade and Silva start as they are probably better runners than the others and Bath is a big pitch.

I can't be the only one to think they should've gone down to 10 for the high boot on Max K for a second yellow in the 1st half? It's telling that they withdrew him a minute later despite it being only the 40th minute.
To be fair, I think the officials last night might be the worst set I've seen - for both sides may I add! The standard at this level is actually quite shocking really. Apparently one of the lino's were so shocking, a Totton fan decided to waste their beer by chucking it all over the lino; I get they were awful but there's no need for that..
Also, both teams arguably could've/should've been down to 10 men in the first half with Vaz's challenge on their attacker and then the high boot on Kretzchmar around the 40th minute mark.

Interview with their manager, not sure what “career ending” tackle he was on about… https://youtu.be/r_tE0axitbY?si=TCsOOd5p338sw2l-
