One further concern is that Gray went off injured and we await an assessment on his availability.
He was excellent in the first half, and we certainly missed him in the second half, when we were under the cosh, after they scored their second, and needed an output.
It’s probably fair to say that many of us have been pleasantly surprised by the standard of play so far this season. Think with the mass exit of so many of last years squad we feared the worst. Most of the new players have been good and several would have made into last seasons side. Atkinson has been an excellent signing as has others already mentioned. Promotion was never likely given the strength of some teams in our league but we should be able to keep out of relegation zone.

I've found the games this season so much more enjoyable. Even during our long unbeaten run around the same time last year we never looked that convincing. Credit really has to go to the management for enabling a far more entertaining style of play with some really astute signings, and loanees who have genuinely added something rather than just drafted in to fill gaps.
However if the budget really is as low as everyone says, then I do fear that Jules is going to be snapped up by a bigger but cash conscious club.
