Another tough home game against a full time team including ex players Issac Pitblado and Moussa Diarra. Our recent form gives cause for concern and we face two good strikers in Alexander and Pavey.
On current form a draw would be a good result. They drew with Torquay last time out and will be looking for three points at Beveree.
Eastbourne here on Tuesday

What a turnaround in that second half!
First half was horrible. Very static. Massive gap between defenders and forwards. Nobody making runs.
Second half, fantastic. Countered their pressure with runners everywhere. Excellent.
Big shout out to Archy Taylor. That run that led to the penalty was brave and tenacious.

The only comfort to be taken from the first half was that we were only 1-0 down although in truth were played off the park by Eastbourne who dominated throughout. Roberts was pushed into the CF role with Sorondo and Gray dropped to the bench. Masumpu came in at left back and Critchlow on the left. If anything the changes made us look worse, giving the ball away constantly and rarely threatening Eastbourne’s back line. When Roberts failed to reappear for the second half and Vilhete went to CF and Gray to wide right I don’t think anyone thought it would make any difference and for the first 10 minutes it didn’t. Then the whole game went crazy in a big way. Gray’s cross come shot was tipped over the bar and from the resulting corner Taylor headed home for 1-1. This visibly lifted the whole team who looked drained of confidence up until that moment. Curd’s long ball was then chased down by Archie Taylor, a late first half sub for French, and he was clattered by the advancing keeper for a penalty ably dispatched by Vilhete. Suddenly there was only one team in it and the goal of the game came following a flowing counter attack scored by Gray. Eastbourne looked shell shocked as might they should. There could have been more goals but in the end 3-1 it was, a most enjoyable but unexpected turnaround. I expect great relief for Alan Julian but I bet he didn’t quite plan it that way.

Well that was an astonishing turnaround! Whatever Jules said at HT had an amazing effect because we suddenly looked like promotion contenders. Gray transformed things when he came on but as has already been mentioned, Archy Taylor was superb too. Well done to all though!

As has been said before “ a game of two halves “. Think most of us were surprised at the team selection and in a one sided first half we were only one goal down . The second half was a different story, our small quick forwards started to find space against some much bigger defenders A great effort and a result that was not anticipated before kickoff.
Well done to all.
Well done to all.

Thought we started quite brightly with pace down the wings but that faded and we became disjointed. At half time certainly didn't see the recovery coming especially when Roberts was replaced. Really good effort in the second half though. Great header for the first goal, brilliant run to create the second and superb move to finish it off.
