Was he one of our subs?

A duel involving the brothers would be proper half time entertainment. Not against each other though, that would probably just involve coordination of their tabards.

First task, put a positive spin to the Ladies players on why the Men's team signed Mason Greenwood?

there is a message on social media from the club account - congratulating Stefano on his new role and is "former club director and co-owner".

So who owns us now?

I guess the "former" applies only to the "club director" part and not the "co-owner" part.

It is a very strange comment to make though - just "co-owner" seems a much more natural thing to say but, perhaps, as it's on LinkedIn, someone felt it was important to highlight being more than just being a co-owner...

He doesn’t own any shares directly, they are owned by Ramayana and his shares in Ramayana are owned through a company.

It will be good to get the HRB Women's team back again - get more people involved in the club community and more people along for men's matches as well.

I'm reliably informed the brothers have been spotted about the village today and we should be seeing more of them on matchdays, at least for the time being, so they are still very much invested in the club.

On women's team- its essential that we field a side- ideally at the Bev and I am sure everybody would support it.

Last night Richmond and Kew women, newly formed for the 21/22 season containing half a dozen or so Hampton and Richmond players back then won their first match of the season beating Actonian reserves 3-0 with actually their strongest side. They lost their opening two marches 1-5 and 0-6 to Bromley and Brentford respectively with far from full strength sides. Since being formed they have played in the Greater London woman's football league (step seven) winning two titles and promotions and now play in the London and South Eastern league (step six). Last night's match was a "home" one played under floodlights at the Quintin Hogg ground. Our true home ground is Ham fields which doesn't have floodlights and our next and opening competitive home match takes place a week on Sunday. This Sunday they are away to Leatherhead at their Fetcham Grove ground...

Long post on LinkedIn from Rafa (posted Tuesday I think) which is probably worthy of being pasted here as there are some interesting comments:

"Rafaele P. (Football Club Owner - The Real ‘Ted Lasso’ Team in Richmond, London | Turnaround & Transformation Specialist | Chief Digital Officer | Chief Transformation Officer | Skydiver | Explorer)

First victory for Stefano in a 7 goal thriller as CEO of Olympique de Marseille Women - great way to start his new role! Of course, as football club owners, we are fully aware of the ups and downs of a long season; there are countless dips that often leave you speechless despite having done everything possible to succeed.

In fact, despite countless efforts and sleepless nights, during the 23/24 season Hampton & Richmond FC was in the playoffs area for the better part of the second half of the season only to loose (sic) its spot on a heart breaking 5-1 defeat on the last match of the campaign.

This is the reality of football that fans don’t see; the work, effort, passion and dedication by all staff to push forward in the face adversity can be temporarily undone by a crushing defeat.

The only thing that keeps you sane is a constant, resilient and determined growth mindset. Following the end of last season, as owners we took a hard look at what happened and adopting what typically happens in startups, we did a hard pivot to rapidly and drastically adapt our strategy. We made the hard decisions of changing management, ethos, and focused on re-building a football culture that had inadvertently turned defeatist.

During last season I often argued with our then football management team that we weren’t scoring enough goals and that our mentality was ‘not to loose’ (sic) rather than win. Of course, this created friction but the data didn’t lie. But at times, it’s too late in the season to make drastic changes and you just have to ride the wave the best you can. The biggest lesson here is to be careful where and to who you delegate responsibilities and always use data and facts to back your decision making.

The key is to learn from your mistakes and whilst it’s still early in the 24/25 season, the new squad, management, but more importantly the culture of a warrior-like mentality is driving significant results in the style and togetherness of the squad. There’s always frustration as the beauty of football is that ultimately you are in the hands of the ‘gods’; the past 3 matches the Beavers have been on top only to conceed (sic) last minute. A massive frustration shared by all but it is the power of this frustration that is harnessed into positivity to propel the squad forward.

I’m immensely proud of the new team and management, and whether it’s in France or in England, the key is to keep on going with a warrior mindset, trust the data, and don’t be afraid to make the hard decisions.
Alan Julian - our new manager and club legend, epitomises the warrior and winning mindset in his latest interview, check it out.

Congratulations Stefano and thank you Alan for your unwavering dedication and warrior like mentality."

TLDR summary: It was pretty much all Mel's fault.

Speaking of Mel, I see his coaching is working well for Oxford City…
