Well, it wasn’t all down to the last game as we know. Plenty of chances to secure the points before then but form nosedived. Suspect Mel knew what was coming.

The post implies the Italian is still very much employed and responsibility for appointing Alan and what's happening on the pitch.. surely not?

That LinkedIn post is hilarious. So he’s saying he clashed with the manager over tactics because of ‘data’ that didn’t lie. Guessing he was miffed that number of goals scored didn’t trend upwards in direct correlation with the increase in pitch-side motivational slogans.

My understanding is that Alan Julian was appointed by the new club board.The Petruzzos are no longer on that board so any control is presumably exercised through their shareholding.

Following the end of last season, as owners we took a hard look at what happened and adopting what typically happens in startups, we did a hard pivot to rapidly and drastically adapt our strategy.
A "hard pivot?" Ouch. You must be able to get ointment for that surely?

Personally I'd describe the LinkedIn piece as a load of deluded self-serving garbage.

Yep, form dropped off badly in the last few games. I suspect the players had been told or figured out contracts could not be afforded for this season.
