Difficult to watch those clowns. I note they mention the kit combinations (although they should have said permutations because order mattered). Let me put it on record that the reason I tracked that last season was as a mickey take of how stupid it was.
I have written to Frank Dalleres (frank.dalleres@cityam.com) encouraging him to do a follow up on how the club are trying to recover from their period in charge. We deserve to know the real story behind the real Ted Lasso.

Interesting to see if the brothers will attend any games this season. They still own the club.

My prediction is that we won't see them again.Shepperton Supporter wrote: ↑Tue Aug 06, 2024 9:39 am Interesting to see if the brothers will attend any games this season. They still own the club.
Permutations not combinations! Indeed. Very good!EastTerracer wrote: ↑Tue Aug 06, 2024 8:44 am Difficult to watch those clowns. Interestingly the video is titled "Hampton and Richmond Borough" and the presenter using the club name several times too.
The look on a certain persons face was interesting.
Then another first comment on camera "Hampton & Richmond...... we will never change the club name"
I see Middlesex FA still list the club with the name including "Borough", so officially the club name has not been changed, bizarre especially with the B not used on the new club badge.

The brothers (via Ramayana) didn't trademark the name including Borough. Perhaps this was not possible. Although they didn't change the official name they did change the identity. I wonder whether they gain from the use of the trademarks they did register ? I would rather the club reverted to the prior badge and naming and dropped the rather silly #hamrichfc.

The thing about the whole name change that really seemed to set the tone for the brother’s tenure of the club was the fact that (as far as I know) they’ve never provided supporters with an explanation as to why it was changed. In fact I don’t believe they ever came out and said “we’ve decided to change the name”, they just released the new branding and that was that?
It’s probably fair to assume they think it’s more marketable without the Borough, and they’re desperate to associate the club with the town of Richmond so they can cash cash in on the Real Ted Lasso nonsense. I don’t agree with that personally but fine, it’s their decision to make. Not communicating any details around the name change however belies their utter contempt for supporters.
I know opinions vary on how much dropping Borough really matters (personally I think it does because the place that the club represents is integral to it’s identity), but the absolute least the owners could do is be transparent about why they’ve done it.
Or am I wrong, did they ever communicate any reason for it?

Trademarking the names and other elements under Ramayana is a disgrace. The may be the major shareholders, but it should have been trademarked under the football club.EastTerracer wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2024 6:56 pm The brothers (via Ramayana) didn't trademark the name including Borough. Also the elements of the club badge were designed by someone years ago by use of the football club, it may not have been officially trademarked previously but the design elements in the club badge haven't really been trademarked correctly as it is not their artwork.
Maybe that's what you refer to as not being possible to include Borough, as it's a full company name of another company.
What's odd, was the other trademarks such as "Richmond FC"

The identity change (without consultation with fans) is one but thing but perhaps the situation with volunteers and the role of the trust (in terms of board and ground presence) were also indictative of the brothers approach.
