Conference National new boys St Albans City fell to a shock defeat at home to Hampton. On an evening when thunder, lightning plus torrential rain was falling in South West London, flooding parts of Hampton and Hanworth, the Beavers were serenely turning over a Conference side, two levels above them. After a goalless first half, Hampton scored twice in a four-minute spell at the start of the second period. Yaku was released by a great pass from Godfrey, City keeper Paul Bastock had no chance with the shot. Four minutes later Yaku squared the ball to Hodges who was taken down by Bastock, the resulting penalty was put away by Hodges. Late in the game, Lovett made a great save to keep the clean sheet.
