Hampton made it to their second Cup Final of the season by coming back from 2-0 down to beat Staines Town in the Middlesex Charity Cup Semi-Final. Paul Lucas opened the scoring after five minutes and Simon Pentland made it 2-0 ten minutes into the second half. Hampton then stirred themselves and came back into the game when Bayliss pulled a goal back soon after. Cheshire then scored the equalising goal after young Staines keeper, Matt Lovett, dropped the ball. The Swans then had three good chances to take the win but it was a slightly controversial goal by Wilson, with defenders claiming a handball, that saw Hampton into the final.
