The Beavers extended their unbeaten run to seven league games but had to settle for a point as Croydon bagged a late equaliser. The game was frenetic with the ball spending a lot of time in the air and no one was allowed to settle on the ball. Both goalkeepers showed up well, former Hampton keeper Rob Frankland had to dive in amongst the feet to deny Inns, whilst Massoud, in the home goal made a leaping take from a swerving shot by James Waite. Hampton scored a minute before the interval, a Currie shot looked to be going wide until defender Jon White diverted the ball into his own net. The game see-sawed in the second half, Croydon weren’t about to give up and pressed hard. Croydon’s equaliser in the 88th minute did come out of the blue. A defensive header looked to be going out for a corner, however Dean Lock, chasing a seemingly lost cause, retrieved the ball and crossed for Scott Todd to head in from close range.
