THOSE WERE THE DAYS

4th placed Hendon went ahead in the 19th minute through two ex-Beavers, Kezie Ibe met Lee O’Leary’s flick and nodded the ball past Smith. The closest that Hampton came in the first half was a Rose effort that hit the side netting. It took until the 58th minute for Hampton to level the scores, Moone netting his 100th goal for the club, volleying home a cross from Newman. Ten minutes later Hendon regained the lead when Aaron Morgan side-footed the ball past Smith. Hendon then sat back, keen to hold on to the lead, however they were caught out in the 85th minute. Moone chased down a long pass, Elliott Brathwaite got himself in a tangle and despite being surrounded by three green shirted Hendon defenders, Moone cheekily lobbed Ben McNamara for his 101st goal. Despite late pressure, Hampton held on for an excellent point which kept them just ahead of the relegation places.
