Out played. Start The Club Car Mr Barbel lets get out of here. Good side them Silkmen
It was always going to be a tough game but with a number of missing key players - Fernandez, Deadfield, Donaldson, and Seymour only fit to be on the bench- the task was that bit steeper. The game followed the pattern of Tuesday’s match against St Albans with the visitors having the better possession and exploiting the wings with plenty of balls into the box. Debois made one finger tip save early on to keep us in it. Our best chance came when Hall shot across the box narrowly wide. 0-0 at half time. I thought we would push on after the break but two goals in five minutes killed off the game. First from a corner and second from a mistake by Inman letting in their #9 for a clinical finish. Our best efforts came from Bloomfield but we lacked the width or pace to break open up their defence. Seymour, Brown and CKB came on after the second goal but had limited impact. In the end well beaten by a better side.

We didn't play badly as such today but Macclesfield were very strong in all departments. Its true that being without Donaldson and Deadfield didn't help our cause but in truth I still think we might have come off second best even if they'd been available.
I don't know how much Macclesfield are paying their players but some of them were seriously good. A well coached and well drilled side too. No complaints about losing today and good luck to them in the next round.
I do feel I have to add this though...in a game that should have had the atmosphere of previous big games (playoff finals, title winning games etc) the Bev felt a bit flat today. There are a lot of people there now who seem happy to pay to get in for the right to buy pizza and chat to their mates with their backs to the game. One large group near us was discussing rugby for most of the second half. This isn't really meant to be a criticism as such, times change, people come and go, but it really is starting to feel very different these days. If the intention was to have a "Dulwich" feel at home games, i.e., more like a social club than a hotbed of football, then it's certainly succeeding.
I note that one of our long standing and vocal supporters was escorted out by security today...I don't know what happened but I do hope the club don't do anything too draconian.

Apparently, it was Alec Barry, can't comment too much as I wasn't at the game, but from some tweets I saw, one of the brothers shoved him and then was shocked when there was retaliation.
