Against any side from this level, that's what would have happened against Southall. We were exceptionally poor against weymouth, but luckily so were they. This is a significant problem. We have not been convincing in any game so far and this is a Massive reality check. Perfect time for the documentary to come out, forget Premier League in 15 years, let's focus on National League South for this year...

Yes a massive reality check. Many of us saw this result coming, there have been warning signs all season. You cannot leave Seymour on his own upfront, Bloomfield has been disappointing and ? Injury prone. Midfield needs strengthening and a change or two in defence might not go amiss.

A tactic that is well proven to be madness.

Just heard Mel, in fairness he says it was a very poor performance especially in the first half . Apologies to the travelling supporters.
The question is what he does now, most supporters think recruitment and tactics changes might help, it is not the right time but to do nothing might be fatal.

Recruitment in the summer has been poor. Was that all down to the manager? The owners must be furious with the way things are going.

You need to remember that this is Mel’s first job as a manager. His previous experience was at a level or levels higher than us. It might be that he.doesn’t have the contacts that say Dowse might have had to suit our present position.
He retained much of last season’s squad that had struggled. It is beginning to look like a player of Clifton’s style was not recruited as he was one factor in the revival. Whilst it Is easy to be wise after the event, some players signed did draw comments as to their suitability., fitness levels and recent form.
Anyway we are where we are , it is how we address the current situation that matters most. Hopefully Mel will get appropriate backing from the owners , investors, players and fans.

Unfortunately Mel has pretty much spent all the credit he built up last in season’s rescue. It’s been very clear where the problems have been all season yet we don’t seem to have made any moves to bolster the squad. We have now picked up a few injuries and today’s starting lineup looked a bit thin in places. Most players seem to be playing well below their best and frankly we look less fit compared to some sides who may not be as technically gifted. The Hall substitution looked tactical although who knows really given he can never do 90 minutes. I wonder what the point is of having him in the squad and one or two others who aren’t really ready for this level if we have any pretensions of challenging in the league. Perhaps today’s shocking first half performance will galvanise some action in the camp. When we brought Clifton in last season he gave a struggling side a bit of a lift.We need a couple of that type of player now to break out of the rut we are in.

I thought Mel made it pretty clear that all the new signings were down to him.

To be fair I think quite a few people were optimistic, after the recruitment in the Summer.
Mel did say the signings were down to him.
The owners might well be furious, but Mel was their choice.

I don’t think any of the signings have improved the side from the end of last season. And the side from the end of last season was a mid table side, nothing higher. Seymour has promise but isn’t suited to the way this team wants to play.
