Paul Riley; Gary Gerson, Bobby Green, Gary Cambridge, Tim Hollands, Sean O’Connell, Sean Rice (Micky Beadle, 70’), Malcolm Dickenson, Ricky Walkes, Lee Mooney, Zarak Shafique.

Hampton’s first appearance in the London Senior Cup Final resulted in defeat at the hands of neighbours Kingstonian. K’s took the lead in the 10th minute, Martin Taylor heading home. Both keepers, John Power (K’s) and Riley were called upon to keep opposing forwards at bay, David Kempton was denied by Riley. K’s doubled their lead through Gary Dodd. Hampton pulled one back through a Dickenson penalty in the 67th minute after a handball by Darren Bird. Kingstonian held on for their third LSC win.
Hampton would make the final the next season, losing out to Fisher Athletic in a replay.

Was this the game that, given how geographically close both clubs were, rather ludicrously took place at the old Enfield ground? If it was, I couldn't understand why we didn't play the excellent Paul Duncalf that day. Good player, who didn't get a fair crack of the whip.

Yes, played at Enfield.
