Pitch was ok at earlier inspection by local referee but the frost returned. Not a lot Weymouth could do otherwise and at least they tried. No point in putting players at risk, and they are priority over the supporters…

Would agree with you Rob, the player’s health is more important.than trying to put on a game under such difficult conditions.
Another trip in better weather!

Just like the fiasco at Kingsmeadow stadium two days ago. Also you've got to feel for HM in these turbulent times ⏲

Always difficult for evening matches in Jan and Feb when the frost returns in the evening. Why not play more midweek games in August and September!

At least the club car will be warm on the way back Mr MK. Although Dowse’s old water bottle froze in the boot on the way down.

Accident on the M3 on the way home as well. Nothing been moving on the motorway either direction for the last forty minutes... Be lucky to make it back before 2am.

We came home on the A3 after hearing about accident. You were HEADING in the wrong direction.

To be fair to Weymouth apparently that is their first game called off in 4 years, 110 games.

Third, why was the Mel Gwinnett piece on Twitter a speech rather than an interview? His pre- and post-match interviews on the Barnet site seemed chatty and relaxed. That didn't seem to be the case here.
I think all those questions are really pertinent tbh (this website needs a like button!), but I can probably give some clarity to the third. The video which was released this week was purely an introductory one, and we're absolutely still intending to do more substantive pre- and post-match interviews with the new manager.

I have to say, as someone who is still doing their volunteering role at present, it's absolutely heartbreaking to see so many people walk away. There are some amazing, amazing people at this club, but sadly there are a lot fewer of them now than there were a month ago and that's just a real shame.

I imagine some will be happy to discuss their reasons for doing so, but probably with a pint in hand.
....or even a glass of red wine!
