Good result considering that we had a 18 year old keeper making his debut. QPR lent us two keepers, but did not want the more experienced cup tied.

Onto the next round hope for a home tie!
Might get a more detailed report soon?

Tony wrote: Fri Sep 16, 2022 3:14 pm We have signed two, yes two, young keepers, from QPR as Mark Smith departs. I understand Smith didn’t want to be cup tied unless the club was prepared to offer a longer term deal. With Julian still out for an unknown period looks like we have three loanees in the back five for the foreseeable.
Hopefully I am wrong but not offering Smith might turn our to be a bad decision if Julian is out for a long time. He is in his late 30s and injuries take that much longer to clear up.
As Tony mentioned a defence made up of young loanees for a foreseeable future could place us in a relegation position.
An 18 year old goalkeeper who got man of the match on his debut, a 19 year old centre back who is vocal and hasn't put a foot wrong since joining, and a 19 year old left back who has put in two very impressive performances.

We might go into a relegation position (though I suspect not) but even if we do, it won't be the fault of three very talented youngster who have adapted to the club and level very quickly.

Well yes, they were obviously all very good yesterday but what happens when they go back or are recalled early?

Can anyone confirm if the draw for the next round of the FA cup is the usual time (lunchtime tomorrow). Bearing in mind tomorrow is the funeral of her majesty the Queen

Gosport Borough or Paulton Rovers at home in the next round.

Paulton Rovers will bring shivers to some of our older supporters. We lost there in the Cup when Dev was manager and we failed to turn up. Anyway a home draw is welcome. Gosport step 3 and Paulton step 4.

Was also the 3rd Qualifying round. Back in 2003. Remember the coach struggling up a hill and the driver getting lost! Thankfully we are at home as there is a train strike that day.

I remember walking into a pub in Paulton a couple of hours before kick off...was like "The Slaughtered Lamb" in the film American Werewolf in London if anyone's old enough to remember that. The game was a nightmare as well.
