Interesting signing bolstering midfield options. Son of Guy Whittingham. Played at both NLS and NL level.

From the Havant forum. He was on loan there last season.

Looks like he could be a very useful addition to the squad.

Now a striker with similar background would be on most folks wanted list? Trouble is these are not that easy to get.

According to what Gary said it is the strongest midfield he has had at the club. Let’s hope he is right, think most of us will wait to see the new players in action.

On paper at least, the signings of Shokunbi and Whittingham have added some strength to centre midfield, an area where we were quite weak physically over the last couple of seasons. Hard to judge not knowing the players until we see them in action but looks promising. Now need to fill in with a couple more strikers.

seems a great signing...looking like there is no room now for either Dunne or Ulche..think we are still needing a CB and a striker..so far though on paper Gary and the board have made some very good signings

Would agree with your thoughts about the signings and the further acquisitions. Would add left back cover and backup keeper.

Think we can do without a back up keeper. WhenJulian was out last season we went to the loan market, not trusting the young back up.

Can see your point Tony, depends whether Gary puts a keeper on the bench especially in important games. It might be that he risks a young keeper on most matches? Depends on his budget.

Keeper on the bench usually wastes an option for the manager. Pretty rare that a sub keeper ever comes on. It’s a risk but one that most teams take. Any decent keeper won’t hang around for long if they never get a game.

From Gary’s remarks he seemed to indicate that he was happy with the three central defenders, so one assumes no further recruiting there.
Looks like perhaps one or two more incoming which one assumes will be forwards , all depending on the budget which does not have much left, but he hopes sufficient to fill the final couple of spots, he might use the loan market as well.
Seemed happy with progress so far. Player’s fitness levels were very good. Couple of trialist players who were present look ok.

I heard the name Tarique when the players were running so could be a trailist or academy player?
