From Gary’s comments last weekend, could there me some additions?

Only reported change is that Minhas has gone to Beaconsfield to get some game time. Wish him well, been so unfortunate with injuries. Seen that Slew has been given his number 9 squad number.

Don’t appear to have heard anything about the 7 day approach that Gary mentioned over a week ago. Do we therefore assume that we were unsuccessful?

More proof that these "squad numbers" are ridiculous.
They aren't squad numbers, just random pointless match day numbers like a pub team.

If it was squad numbers, you wouldn't be able to change through the season, you'd have to stick to the number you got.

The reason given for these numbers last season was due to Covid and wearing the same kit. Why continue with it? Unless you do it like Ebbsfleet properly and all keep the same number, and like them, you may as well have names on the shirts too.

According to Gary the new player negotiation is still ongoing and it might be concluded this week? Would not surprise me if it a forward as we are perhaps needing another type of striker especially if our Sutton loan has to return.
Got a few loans expiring this week and some of our own players returning.
Will wait and see what happens this week with a couple of away games.

This was Kylian's last match on his loan. I think Ben Shroll has returned this week as well, though he's been injured for the last three weeks as well.

Jack McKnight has been at Basingstoke, Eastleigh, Dover and Slough, Not sure on what his terms are but if fit, could be useful. We do need to improve our strength in depth.
From Gary’s comments the player they want is proving a problem with agents getting involved.

Dronfield was injured playing for Wealdstone at Grimsby so doubt we’ll be seeing him back any time soon. Need some reinforcements as the bench was very lightweight again last night.

McKnight doesn’t seem to have played since January and underwent an operation in the close season so suspecting was a free agent. Didn’t feature much for Slough in his time there but had two seasons at Eastleigh so something of a story there I guess.

From Gary’s post match comments, McKnight has only just returned to training so some way to go before we can tell how effective he is. Uche is the obvious loan call back but given Harrow’s cup tie with Portsmouth that would be a difficult call. Any other new loanees are by definition likely to be fringe players at their current clubs.

According to his interview after the Welling game, Gary suggested there might be some incoming player news either this evening or tomorrow as the squad is thin on numbers due to the injury situation.
Let’s wait and see what happens.
