The closest that Hampton came to troubling Brentford was in the 10th minute when Moone, taken down in the penalty area, and had his penalty saved by Antonio Gounet. Following that it was a case of men against boys as the Bees rattled in five goals in the first half. Three goals in as many minutes by Allfie Mawson, Stuart Dallas and Roweny Schoop settled the game as a contest. The final two goals came in the last five minutes of the half. A simple goal for Myles Weston and a 30 yarder from Leon Redwood. The second half saw Brentford send out a completely different XI. Chiweshe made a good save from Josh Clarke with Turner going close for the hosts in a more even second half.
