Happy New Year one and all. We start 2026 hosting Chesham on Saturday, in a fairly must win game.
On Chesham's twitter that have said there will be a pitch inspection on Saturday morning due to sub zero temperatures.

We have just tweeted to say there is NO inspection currently planned. All seems a bit confusing.

Would highly recommend a pitch inspection.

Indeed, it’s getting a lot colder on Friday and into Saturday. Difficult to see the match being on.
Last time Dowse was here he had us bring our cars onto the pitch to try and defrost it!

Having just seen the weather for today, and then for tomorrow morning, I would think there is almost zero chance of this game being on, but we can live in hope...

E-mailer from the club says pitch looking fine as of Friday lunchtime - That surprises me a bit seeing the frost still visible in some areas locally but possibly it will all depend if the sun shines on Saturday morning, which luckily is what the forecast suggests. Fingers crossed!

Good communication from the club. Let's hope that continues tomorrow.

Why so much of a rush? Unless, I suppose, the pitch is very obviously not going to thaw out at all, in which case fair enough, but surely 11.30 or something would give more chance for some sun to get on the pitch?
