A superb performance today, 2-0 flattered them and we should’ve had more. Farnborough were appalling and offered very little. A massive and much needed win.

Dowson ball has arrived.

Fluid, direct and clean sheet. Merry Xmas all!

We definitely looked significantly more robust and able to compete. Kretschmar and (especially) Kiernan were excellent too. But let's keep in mind that the Farnborough side we saw today were dreadful, completely devoid of any spark or ideas, and will definitely go down if they don't improve. Easily the worst side I've seen this season, apart from us at Leatherhead.

2-0 and it could've been a lot more.
Their keeper was their MoM making several good saves.
We were at it from the start and Farnborough offered nothing, and only had a decentish spell when we were 2-0 up.

Also, Max Kretzchmar did a post-match interview that's available on twitter if anyone is interested in either! :)

A quite majestic performance on the road. Our first away league win since the 25th Of August. Without Turner in their net it could've been many more. We looked controlled in the first half, and from our very first action we were attacking. Passing the ball well and keeping it on the deck, with the entire front 4 looking lively. The understanding between the players was there with triangles and patterns of play. A quite brilliant 3 points on the road. Great to see Max back. Brendan looking like the Brendan of old, Junior Dixon with his constant running, trickery hold up play he was brilliant. Our 2 best performances in recent times were arguably Horsham and Today. In both, Dixon was one of our best and most creative players. Fantastic for Fas to get back on the scoresheet, and Lacey was deserving of his goal. All in all, a good boxing day.

Rowley - 7/10 is neat and tidy with his work. Great save in the first half.
Lacey - 8/10 Like him. Good goal, great use of the ball has lots of energy about him. Likens to another right back who came to us from Oxford.
Jackson - 8/10 A very good centre half. 2 clean sheets in a row, a calm presence alongside Mass. Big tackle in the 1st half too.
Massey - 8/10 Solid. Dependable. Brilliant.
Sayers - 8/10 Has looked brilliant again since the managerial change. Always a danger going forward, Brendan and he linked up superbly.
Deadfield - 7/10 Calm on the ball. Competed well. A little cosy at times but he's growing into this team.
Gardner - 6/10. Got the assist for the first goal. Still question marks for me around his consistent starting place based on a few factors.
Kiernan - 8/10 Superb on the left. Retained possession, drove at his man. Just like a BK we have seen many a time before.
Kretzchmar - 7.5/10 Not a surprise we look better on the ball with this man in the side, and had 1 disallowed for offside. Great player.
Fasanmade - 8/10 In the right place for his goal and looks a threat again. Best performance from him since probably Slough or Merthyr.
Dixon - 9/10 - My MOTM. Today's win doesn't happen without the persistent, hard working, skillful, strong, smart Dixon. Ran both the Farnborough CBs ragged for 90 minutes, a true strikers performance.

Subs:
Vaughan 7/10 - There's something to like there. Runs into the right places and uses the ball well.
Silva 6/10 - Didn't have a huge impact on the game.
Greenidge N/A - Didn't have long enough. Amusing he is our new #29, and we didn't have a shirt with his name, so on the back of his shirt was Richards.

On Farnborough, a very very poor side. Will get relegated without something changing. They were a typical Spencer Day side, long throws, very direct, but the quality was abject. What a turnaround since our last meeting! Day used illness and not training as his excuse, in fairness we used lack of training quite a bit during our run. But he acknowledged we worked far harder, wanted and fully deserved the win. Not sure how many fans are still behind him and their fairly consistent mediocrity, turning into a shambles.

Onto Chesham, which is another very winnable game!

The support from us was brilliant, must be said. I know it wasn’t far but considering there was no trains, i thought we had a great turnout. You can hear us very visibly on the highlights too.
