Ince included on the bench but no Grego-Cox. Bench is looking a bit thin on options. If Ince isn’t fit enough we only have Rodari and Allsop with any experience to call on.

Sat way too deep invited pressure and paid the price. Apart from a great effort by Kader we havnt really had a go. Sam Deadfield hasnt the gas to be the midfielder to break, should be Gardener but him and Tuck are practically playing on Massey's toes. I don't even think Eastleigh are that good. We've just shown them
far too much respect.

Thought we were looking really promising until they scored their first, but have looked distinctly second best since.

That was a bit of an anti-climax after all the pre game hype. Pretty even for 25 minutes then two goals from Eastleigh in 7 minutes effectively ended the competition. Our body language after conceding a poor second goal rather suggested we had lost any belief that we could get back into the game. In the second half we managed just one shot off target and offered no real threat. When we did have the ball we gave it away too cheaply with rushed and sloppy passing. Eastleigh took their foot off the gas and barely mustered an effort themselves. Second half was really flat.

Ince, who was on the bench and warming up all second half, didn’t come on and I can only guess he is not even fit enough to play even five minutes. That left just Rodari and Allsop to come on to impact the game but Rodari lasted only 10 minutes before he went off injured. McGreavey got a run out but can hardly be expected to be a game changer at his age. I thought our best players were in defence today, Thomas and Mason doing well. Midfield really struggled to find a way through today and whilst the long ball was effective early on it was less effective with Eastleigh sitting deeper second half.

Totally agree with Tony, a huge anti-climax. After their first goal we weren't the same side and they didn't need to be anywhere near their best to entirely snuff us out. Didn't think the officials did us many favours today but we can't blame the defeat on that.
It wasn't just the fact that they are a division above, we looked downhearted from a goal down, never recovered, and failed to even throw caution to the wind in order to give it a go.

Agree with TW10. Had a couple of successes with long balls early on so kept doing that, but they clocked it, adjusted, and yet we kept doing it. Sitting back to absorb the pressure again just gave them a lot of room and time. Soul had a couple of good runs at their centre backs, (hello, Luiz) but ran out of steam. Might have been more successful trying to overload the middle and running at their centre backs instead of hoofing it down the channels. And never good psychologically to show another team just how much you respect them.
