Lost 3-2, couldn't make it today, looking forward to people's observations but it sounds like a bit of a poor result.

Frustrating one. Dominated the ball and created plenty of chances, but some dodgy moments at the back cost us, not our day sadly.

Slough did to us what we have done others, absorbed pressure and then scored on the counter. We dominated possession but went behind in the 14th minute when Slough got in behind and Gidaree converted the lose ball. Their second came direct from a freekick, Scott Davies doing what he does curling the ball round/under the wall. Gardner pulled one back from the spot after Fasanmade was tripped by the Slough keeper making it 2-1 at half time. We totally dominated the second half without finding a way through a well drilled defence. Slough’s third came against the run of play, Gidaree getting his second after Sayers got on the wrong side of his attacker. Julian threw on the attacking-options but it took until the 93rd minute for Fasanmade to grab a lifeline with our second. The Ref played 8 minutes of added time and we should have scored from a late corner but Thomas hit his shot over the bar in the last minute. Julian won’t be happy with the goals conceded but happier that we didn’t give up and nearly clawed back a point. It is unusual for us to have so much possession but we needed to turn that possession into chances. It took until the second half for us to show a bit more urgency but we were then chasing the game.

Surely I can't be the only person to notice that in the second half Slough Town wore completely different shirts???

In my humble opinion, if you’re going to play with three centre backs in a game like that, one of them has to have the confidence to move into midfield.
Sam was playing so high up it only left Harry and Alfie in the middle. So when they wanted to counter, boom, lots of room.
So yeah, we often had four up front, but no reliable way of getting the ball to them. When we did reduce the massive gap between midfield and front line, and put some combinations together, we looked good.
Onwards and upwards though.

Bit of a disappointing result but I guess we have been spoilt at the Bev so far this season.
Interesting to spot Mike Atkinson up in the director's box/terrace chatting to Ben Hudson and Scott Forbes for the whole of the match. He seems to have been on the bench for Salisbury in recent weeks although came on for the last 10 minutes last Tuesday, so seems unlikely he is currently injured. Perhaps we are looking to re-sign him, looking ahead to when Alfie Tuck's loan ends? (I believe Tuck is on a 3-month loan which would run to 23rd November)

Interesting. He hasn’t been starting at Salisbury for a few games and Salisbury currently bottom of the league. Grass is not always greener. Would be a useful addition to the squad if he can find his form of last season.
More so as Ince seems to have disappeared again. Anyone know what’s the position with him? Must come a point where we cut our losses.

The Davies free kick went through the wall as shown by Slough post on X.

There's a long post on the Salisbury FC Supporters Facebook page today looking at their state of affairs there which mentions "a pattern of" their manager "falling out with experienced players" and then adds there are rumours of issues with Atkinson and one other player. No smoke without fire...

Would be good to see Atkinson back. Thought we played well in spells yesterday and possibly deserved a draw but always going to be difficult when conceding goals like that.
Anyone know what the issue with Ince is ? Injured again ?
