Chippenham (a) - 06/09/25

With our tough start out of the way and only losing once, we move onto games we would be more fancied in. Chippenham are currently in the bottom four, with just one win so far, so on paper we would look to be getting a win. However, as we all know that isn’t how football works, and would be very typical of us to lose! Probably a game where we may have more of the ball, so will be interesting to see how we set up.

Yes, it's one of those games where, having outperformed expectations in the first seven games, we need show that this was not just a flash in the pan. I think Tuesday showed we can mix it with the fancied sides but Chippenham are capable of beating most sides on their day. I don't see any games in this division being easy.

Bit frustrating up to HT, Chippenham are probably the most ordinary looking side I've seen so far, but we're not really imposing ourselves on the game and look a little bit flat, especially up front.

Gardner and Rodari would be 2 subs who could change the game for us

FT: 1-1, will take that, not an awful point.

FT 1-1 await reports. We should stay 3rd.

Had more positive impact in the 2nd half, just couldn't really turn the possession into anything truly clear cut. Not a disaster though.

"Highlights" such as they were: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZf25FKZBHI

Excellent save at the end by Holden after we were caught fannying around with the ball at the back.

Tony, you’ve linked the interview with their manager! https://youtu.be/W9tDMsx5kRk?si=8M2ZMn1dMS0VWENL

Agree with you though, they don’t really show much of the chances we supposedly had.
