So far this season we have used 41 players in 21 games...not including unused subs, Danai Hassan and two keepers, Lucius Russell and Max Spence.

Shades of 2014/15 when we used 71 players in 52 games.

It's almost never a good sign is it? It's partly the chronic over reliance on loan players from pro club academies, which isn't just us, it seems to be huge throughout almost all of non-league. Yes, we've had a couple of gems, but the majority just aren't ready.
When Gary McCann joined us, in one of his first interviews he clearly stated that he wouldn't be using the loan system, yet once the season started we were suddenly using it. What changed?
Lots of players who are actually signed seem to make a few sub appearances and then move on. We've also had a number this season who were signed from clubs in leagues below, who ended up being loaned out, or loaned back to where they were signed from. The turnover is huge and must make training a bizarre affair.

Totally agree although I see no problem with season long loans as we have had for keepers in the past.

I agree that the turnover of players is ridiculous. It means most of the players have no real affiliation for the club and so it weakens the supporters affection for the team as they have no idea who is playing week to week.

Dowse was the best when it came to the loan market.

What, as in numbers or successful players? Weren't Lowe, Kabamba, and Dieng all under Dowson?

I'd agree to a point, and those were all great, but Dowson used loan players to a huge degree. There were many others who contributed very little, so you would expect more successes the more you get in.
