Good win. The second goal in particular was tremendous, one of the best team goals at Beveree in ages.

Played them off the park in the first half before conceding, then a real mix-up for their second goal right after the re-start. We should have had a fourth when Roberts (I think) hit the post with a cross shot. Chelmsford’s spoiling tactics persisted throughout, shirt tugging, blocking etc. The only thing the Ref spotted was their stealing 5 yards at every throw-in which he eventually stopped. Couldn’t keep a clean sheet but a good win. Crowd 694 really pleasing after recent matches.

Perhaps more excitement than Hampton fans would have wanted after cruising to a 3-0 advantage courtesy of excellent team goals from Williams, Vilhete and Gray inside 30 mins. To be fair,we had been guilty of sloppiness in possession in the first half and could have been punished on more than one occasion. Still 3-0 up, was it really a problem? The game changed when Foyo pulled one back just before half time to be followed by a disallowed goal in added time, a foul on Curd given by the ref. Chelmsford’s tails were up and within 15 seconds of the restart Foyo scored his second and we looked decidedly on the rocks. Chelmsford were direct and physical and for a good 20 minutes we found it hard to stem the flow of one way traffic. We did have a few moments in attack, Roberts was unlucky with a shot deflected onto the post by Williamson and the keeper made a good low save from Wall’s freekick but most of the action was in the home box. We just about managed to get something in the way as Chelmsford pounded on the door. Great relief as the final whistle went 8 mins into added time. Psychologically very important that we didn’t throw away the lead that looked so effortless after the first half hour.

Just four points covers the top eight places but ominously Torquay are top followed by Boreham Wood and Dorking in fifth. The full-time teams are beginning to assert themselves as often happens during the winter months. We are six points off a play off place and currently well clear of the relegation spots, a much better position than I expected given the wholesale changes to the team. Hopefully we can push on from here but may need to add to the squad if Taylor gets recalled to Sutton after his loan expires. He has become a key player for us.

Another good report from Tony. Thankfully we won't be playing against City for another year they must have the most miserable ,moany old supporters who sit in the stands evler.
Thought the Fanzone area looking good well done to everyone.

One further concern is that Gray went off injured and we await an assessment on his availabllity.

Let’s hope he is not out for long but we do have plenty of midfield cover. Anyone know what happened to recent signing Jonathan Page? Is he injured already?

Page was running laps of the pitch before the warm-up yesterday, not sure it was injury related or just a you're not in the squad get some running in the tank.
