Of course, maybe one for the summer if Salisbury go down and we continue to have a good season.
I suspect they may be on contracts so we would have to pay a fee if we wanted to sign them. Whilst all is fair in love, war and football, having to pay a fee for someone who decided not to sign for us just a few months ago takes bit of swallowing.

Potentially but i don’t blame a young man whose future was uncertain due to our ownership’s problems locking down his future.Tony wrote: Sun Oct 05, 2025 1:47 pm I suspect they may be on contracts so we would have to pay a fee if we wanted to sign them. If we had changed ownership earlier I actually think we keep a big chunk of our squad.
I think the Chairman said that the departing players we wanted to retain were all made offers but we could not compete with the offers they already had from other clubs. So they could have stayed with us but they chose not to. I'm not blaming them for doing that. It's all very transactional in non league and that can work for and against you. If Atkinson has fallen out with Salisbury and wants to leave I don't doubt he'll be speaking to a number of clubs to find the best deal possible. From the club's point of view, if they would like hime back but have to pay a fee plus possibly increased wages, then I guess you decide if that is money well spent against alternatives or maybe you let other players go to accommodate. I've no idea what terms Ince is on but if he isn't realistically going to play more than a handful of minutes then trading him for Atkinson could make sense both playing-wise and financially.
