That’s really sad to read. Such a nice man who cared so much about the club. I hope he finds peace.

Awful to hear this news. I am sending all my love to Martyn, Val, and family during this difficult time. Always looked forward to have a chat with them both and when they come to the club shop for their program. All my love and best wishes xx

Martyn passed away peacefully this morning with Val by his side.

Val and her family are “incredibly grateful for the time we were given with him, to be able to say all we wanted, to share the messages of support and to know with complete certainty that he was at peace and knew he was loved.”

“With all our love and thanks for uplifting us in your thoughts and prayers.”

Martyn will be missed by many who would stop and speak to him at games on the halfway line where he sat.

Martyn loved the club and was always up for a chat to discuss anything about the going’s on, he will be sorely missed by all who would stop and listen to his knowledge.

I will update with details of his funeral when I receive them.

Thoughts go out to Val and the rest of his family at this very sad time.

Rest in peace Martyn.

Thanks for passing on the sad news Josh. I only ever knew Martyn from this forum but the sort of person he was shone through clearly here. I, for one, will miss his numerous decent forum contributions.
My thoughts and best wishes to his family and friends. I hope he still has a good view of the pitch from above...

The news we didn't want to hear, so sad for his family and friends. Rest in peace Martyn. Martyn regularly texted me for inside information on player recruitment and departures, not that I had much information to share. What did I think about this or that player, what chance Shaun Jeffers would come back ( I was not optimistic, he will be very annoyed if he does suddenly reappear next season)? Martyn had lots of other sources so sometimes he would be on the inside track long before me. He knew all the rumours circulating online from other clubs and supporters and I was often grilled on what I thought would happen. Our views on players was pretty much the same (and probably 90% of supporters to be fair). I'll miss my chats with Martyn on and offline. I trust the club will mark his passing when we come back to the Beveree in August.
