THOSE WERE THE DAYS
20th November 1989
Middlesex Charity Cup 3rd Round
Hounslow 1 Hampton 4
Rattue 2, Lucas, Dickenson

David Hook; Mark Joyner, Mike Dalton, Billy Thistleton, Mike Payne, Dave Rattue, Malcolm Dickenson, Paul Lucas, Brian Bere, Matt Downs, Neville Hatcher.
Subs; Mark Gill, Steve Kuhne, Steve Cheshire

A convincing victory over Hounslow saw Hampton into the Quarter Finals of the Middlesex Charity Cup. This was their third meeting of the season, Hampton having knocked Hounslow out of the F A Cup but succumbing to the Denbigh Road side in the Middlesex Senior Cup. Rattue’s free-kick made the opening goal, scored by Lucas. Rattue then scored the second. With the score at 2-0, Hounslow were awarded a mystifying penalty but they failed to convert it. Rattue scored his second, and Hampton’s third with a 30 yarder. Dickenson added the fourth late on before Chris Ellwood scored a late consolation.
