This Amateur Cup-tie between the current occupiers of Beveree and the former tenants, Twickenham, went the way of Hampton in an entertaining five goal contest. Lambert headed Hampton into the lead in the 4th minute, Hill added a second, beating Dickinson to the ball. Twickenham reduced the arrears in the second half when Denny Garnham was brought down in the box, Voss converting the penalty. Hill restored the two-goal advantage thanks to a cross from Cooper. Twickenham reduced Hampton’s lead to 3-2 when Ray Holloway scored in the 87th minute, Hampton holding on for the win.

What a great player Tony Carroll was. He was a Policeman and went on to play for Met Police & Staines. And in JULY 23 was given a Legends award at Hampton Hill Cricket Club. Tony now lives in Devon.
