Back now with clarity over student pricing. 16-18 year olds £5. Students over 18 £12.

Presumably concession includes OAP as well as over 18 students although not stated

Clarified by club on LinkedIn that £5 applies to 16-18 year olds whose ST is £50 and Students pay £12 concession price.

Well the overall reaction on social media so far has been pretty unanimous in that the pricing structure is not popular at all.

Very surprising! It’s a good job we are not on the edge of a major city with plenty of other sport/entertainment opportunities to spend your money on…

It’s not great optics is it. Whilst most long term supporters will not be paying anything like £19 a game, the PR impact of being nearly the most expensive in the league when our average gate is one of the lowest feels like a misstep to me. If the product is much better than the rest of the league then maybe some argument to be made in support but we can’t justify that yet.

Although I posted the league prices for comparison I'm not sure if that will even be the main issue here. The floating supporter or the Dad who wants to take his young boy/girl to a game of football. Will be looking at the local teams. Even though they will be lower levels, Hanworth, Met Police and Walton & Hersham can all be landing spots for potential supporters.

Hanworth
Adults £9
U16 £1

Walton & Hersham
Adults £10
U13 £1

Met Police
Adults £10
U11 free

On top of that AFC Wimbledon, in their family stand, for an Adult and u17 in League two would only be £8 more than us. £23 & £5.

Hmm. But can you get your face painted for free at any of these other local clubs?

Come on lads. They have got to pay for the grass seed for the new pitch.

For the way the new owners have made out they are experts in the way they do things, the usual social media posts have very little interaction.
Yet a mess up with ticket prices, and then having to delete posts has resulted in the best engagement online since they took over.
Thing is, the Supporters Trust are meant to still have interaction with the club, was the trust consulted, or the Chairman on the board involved in the discussions and tactics in pricing structure.

Key for me is that students and kids should be as cheap as possible, a token amount. Then you create returning fans and a new generation of supporter who could well get the bug and continue coming for another 10, 20, 30+ years when they will eventually be paying full price, and spending in the bar, food, merchandise etc.
