THOSE WERE THE DAYS
February 1st 2020
National League South
HRBFC 7 Hungerford Town 1 (Att; 449)
OrsI-Dadomo 2 (1p), Hill 2 (1p), Inman, Muir, Deadfield

In those halcyon days before the threat of Covid-19 was understood, the Beavers had a field day against Hungerford’s Crusaders.

Dion-Curtis Henry; Sam Cox, Kyron Farrell, Dean Inman, Luke Ruddick (Shaun McAuley, 73’), Jake Gray, Ryan Hill, Wadah Ahmidi (Tyrrell Miller-Rodney, 46’), Danilo Orsi-Damodo (Niko Muir, 67), Sam Deadfield, Ruaridh Donaldson.
Unused subs; Tyrone Lewthwaite & Jamie Hope

Beavers were quick off the blocks when Orsi-Damodo scored after 3 minutes, but the visitors equalised shortly after. Following that, it was mainly one way traffic. At the half Hampton led 3-1 (Hill & Orsi-Damodo, both pens), and visiting manager, Ian Herring had been sent off. Inman’s 67th minute low drive (arguably, the best goal) was followed by Muir’s debut strike, Hill and Deadfield adding the 6th and 7th goals, for a stunning victory.
The play-offs loomed but, within a few weeks, the season would come to a juddering halt.
