Preview from our visitors.

Will be interesting to see our team selection as it may well give a firm indication as to our seasons starting line ups. Hopefully Gary might have secured a striker which seems to be a missing piece of his planning.

Can’t make the game so look forward to comments post match. This game has to be our first choice XI barring any injuries. Bit concerned that Wood and Fernandes have missed the last few games which may test our depth of squad. Still no back up for Donaldson at LB despite a few trialists. Without an obvious Wood replacement we may need to change formation and tactics. Alessani, if still around, has good pedigree but is more of a winger/10 than CF. Not sure where he is on form having been at Dulwich again last year then dropping to Carshalton. Kurran-Browne is also more of a wide man. Still a few places to fill in the squad and suspect a loanee or two will be on the to do list.

I noted that Black was not in the squad at Carshalton. Mitchell- Nelson was and from what I understand, he did not get unfavorable reviews from Woking. Is Gary looking at a change especially in the light of Fernandes absence? It would be a permanent player for a loan?
Interesting if both Kaja and Mitchell-Nelson play on Saturday. Think most of us would like to see an out and out striker added to the squad, trouble is they are expensive!

Forgot about Black who is the obvious replacement for Fernandes. Another injury or has Gary gone cold on the loan? Black’s distribution was poor at Met Police and Gary did make comment about it against Hanworth Villa. Is Mitchell- Nelson a CB?

If you look at his record he has played a few league games. Listed at 6ft 2 ins. Depending on funds might be a better prospect?

Ref Mitchell-Nelson, looking at the Carshalton highlights it look like it was his header that set up the equalizer and he appeared to play left side.

Great performance in the first half, much the better team, created good chances. Whittingham missed pen and a sitter in the second half but played really well. The midfield 3 bossed it and Wood had his best game by a mile. Changes in the second half weakened us a lot. Apart from Ade i don’t think we have much depth. Hard to tell about the big striker in the second half. Big unit and a few nice touches. So definitely reason to be very optimistic for the season but still need a few in to strengthen the squad.

According to his comments Gary said he is hoping to still add a couple of players, we shall wait and see! No doubt there will be a few players being released by other clubs , so who knows.
As for the game it could be summed up as a tale of two penalties. Without Donaldson we missed ours and they scored theirs late on.
One thing that struck me is that our opponents had some big players and were not adverse to strong tackles. The likes of Brarzey and Ilic were often out muscled by them . Understand both Stringer and Babalota have signed, the former as left back cover and, as Tony pointed out, Babalota has been on our radar for some time. Gary suggested that he and Wood might play together, wonder if a combination of Wood and Kurran Browne might be more effective?
Off now to the real action. Assume Donaldson will return , the best midfield combination might not be clear?

Couldn't make it to the Bev today...I assume Josh Casey was taking his usual tumbles and doing his best to help the referee out in his decision making?
