A sunny July day to welcome Conference South, Whitehawk to Beveree Stadium. Early chances came Hampton’s way, Ogun shot wide and then Ledgister had a goal ruled out for offside. Brewer then looped a header onto the top of the net. Whitehawk took the lead when Jake Robinson latched on to a through ball and rounded Chiweshe. Sami El Abd had a shot cleared off the line before a myriad of substitutions disrupted the flow of the game. One of the visitor’s triallists (Silva) lashed an unstoppable shot to put them 2-0 up. Turner, Rocastle and Pilgramm combined to set up a chance for Carrick but his deft chip, though beating the keeper, dropped the wrong side of the crossbar. The last action saw Robinson make a point blank save from Tom Frazer.
