I popped over to the club this evening to have a look. Gates were locked shut, but I saw what looked like a board or wall type structure on the 6-yard box. It had a reflection on it like a fire or flames, must be some sort of heating contraption? Don't think it was covering the whole penalty area, so not sure what it was and what impact it will have. I also saw bags of Anti-Freeze (I think that was the name, but something along those lines?!) by the outdoor gazebo.

I hope the club doesn't leave this too long before confirming the game is either off or going ahead. Got to feel sorry for away fans who will have to leave early to get here and may have a wasted journey. If the game was going to be played in my back garden then no chance. Temperature is forecast to get to around 3 degrees by 3pm which might be fine for most of the pitch but the home end goalmouth will need an early decision.

Shame. Decent oxtail soup at Sandown.

I wondered if the inspection might be left as late as possible since the team themselves have already travelled down. Tough on the fans but perhaps the most likely chance to get the game on.

Referee due to arrive at the Bev by 10:30am and some news expected by 11am according to club tweet. Let's hope a firm decision can be made either way at that point.

Considering the players left yesterday and their fans left at 0630 then not gaining much if you call off early today rather than say later on. Spennymoor might have said we would rather you give it every opportunity to be played today than us have to travel down on Tuesday.

No sun to clear the frost today. Just cloud and then snow.

Club tweet suggests the ground was playable at 3pm yesterday so hoping for the same today. Trouble is that the ref needs to make that call at 10.30am when the frost will still be in the ground. We'll know by around 11.

Just ran Hazelwood Parkrun at London Irish in Sunbury, ground concrete solid.
Forecast still says max 4C by 3pm so I think won't defrost fully.

Pitch inspection says it's on.
