An entertaining game with nine goals with Hampton’s Manager using almost two full squads during the game. 2-2 was the first half score with returnee, Dudley Gardner, looking comfortable in midfield. Visiting keeper Gavin Hopper was kept busy managing to defy Riddell twice. After Sittingbourne went ahead, Sestanovich levelled before Rowland’s driven shot gave Hampton a lead which they failed to hold onto as the Kent side levelled before the break. Early in the second half Drury gave the visitors a 3-2 lead but again it was all square when Orebiyi nipped in between defender and keeper. It soon became 4-4, Sittingbourne edging ahead before Ashley Martin prodded the ball home. Late in the game a penalty scored by Sittingbourne decided the issue in Sittingbourne’s favour.
