Chairman isn't he?
KB has already corrected his error. If people can’t be bothered to read through the whole topic…….

the timing of the announcement is slightly interesting - four hours before the season ticket discount deadline passed.

That's with the hope the the fans will still buy a season ticket and fill the club's coffers even though no one knows who the next manager will be or if any of the present team will at playing next season.

The timing of the announcement is a bit interesting being 7:40pm on a Friday evening (perhaps waiting for lawyers to get termination paperwork signed off) but it's a major stretch (too far in my opinion) to say it was done to generate season ticket sales on false pretences. I think you would release the announcement the day after the season ticket discount deadline if that was really your objective.

Many people would have already renewed their season tickets in the weeks prior to Friday's announcement.

Sure but I don't think that the fact there might possibly have been some cynical interference on the timing of the announcement is the biggest concern here.

In any event, does this news really impact season ticket purchase decisions at this stage? We are also not talking about huge numbers of season tickets I'd guess,

If i am not mistaken Luis does not have contact with his dad, so wouldn’t pay too much attention to that, although he may go up a division regardless
I had a chat with him after the W-S-M home game. Goes to watch all the away fixtures in Essex as that’s where he lives and I believe that was his first time seeing Luis at the Bev. Nice guy.

Fred Karno brothers Circus.
I hear he’s available and cheap. On the down side he’s got no non-league experience and has been dead for 82 and a half years.
Perhaps you are not aware of the close connections between Fred Karno and Hampton, his houseboat is still at Hampton and is used as a recording studio by Pink Floyd’s Dave Gilmore. Whilst his hotel was on Taggs Island, in the early days of the club I believe it was the venue for the club’s end of season dinner. No doubt Les can fill in more details?

Flippin' heck, Shep, you are going back in the archives to 2011/12!
Fred Karno made his money in the age of Silent Movies (Charlie Chaplin etc). He bought what is now Taggs Island in 1913 and built a hotel 'The Thames Riviera'. Thousands of people would rock up, by boat, to visit the island and all its amenities. After the First World War Karno lost money and was declared bankrupt in 1926. No one else made a success of the place and the hotel was demolished in the 1970s after a fire. The area was dug out to make a lagoon for houseboats.

Les, I did not go back to the archive of that season! Most of this I knew and a quick research to confirm.

I imagine the brothers are too busy compiling a list of American Football coaches to comment on the situation.

Hmmm. On that note, wasn't Sam Cox supposed to have been in Ted Lasso as an extra? That probably seals it...
