I'm even closer in Thames Ditton and it's torrential at the moment. Can't be looking good.

Re: Maidstone home on Saturday.

That's a terrific win against a very good side. Mason Bloomfield had his best game for us but the whole team were excellent. Could easily have had a couple more and Maidstone couldn't have complained.

Re: Those Were The Days; 11th November 2017

Always seemed as if Dowson saw Brendan as a bit of a luxury player, when in reality he was brilliant and we should probably have built the side around him.

Re: Those Were The Days; 5th November 1985

Agreed, we were always knocking on the door of something special but luck never seemed to be on our side. League Cup semi final penalty miss again Sutton when leading on aggregate to names one instance. Poor Ricky Walkes was inconsolable after that. Definitely! We always seemed to be finishing in m...

Re: Those Were The Days; 5th November 1985

There are some superb players in our line up there and yet we never had much in the way of success during those years. It's hard to pinpoint the reasons why really, with players of Dicko, Wilson, Marshall, Hollands, Rogers and O'Connell's calibre.

Re: Dover away on Saturday.

Well a very hard fought three points in often torrential rain, and quite honestly we couldn't have complained if it had only been one or even none. Dover are better than their league position suggests but their star player must surely be their groudsman for keeping the game on. We are third!

Re: Dover away on Saturday.

0-0 ht. Bit of a poor game really, conditions aren't really helping either side. We've missed a couple of decent chances but they hit the bar.

Just got in the ground...it is absolutely slinging it down here. I'll be stunned if we get the full 90 mins.

Re: Dover away on Saturday.

Well they've just tweeted that they did a "thorough pitch inspection" at 1.00 and are doing another one in half hour, so presumably about now. We're sat in a pub about 4 miles away...

Great result. Shows we can play crisp, passing football and defend against an onslaught if required. Just what's needed for a playoff campaign...
