Re: Those Were The Days; 7th August 1993

Again, some very good players amongst that squad, but this time a few who weren't really quite up to scratch. Rayield ended up having trials with Barnet, who were then a league side, but he quickly faded from the scene after that. Corbett went on to have a decent non league career, mostly at Kingsto...

Re: 23/24 League Predictions

It's certainly going to be an interesting one. The league position after the first seven games will play a huge part but I suspect we'll be in about mid table after that. If we're not though, and we end the season fighting against relegation again, then valid questions may end up being asked. Yeovil...

Re: Ben Seymour

I'm glad he's chosen us but really that's madness isn't it. Surely he's lodging somewhere up here for half the week or something?

Re: Those Were The Days; 1st August 1981

Ian Mason was at the recent Met Police friendly. Good keeper. This team for me though summed up Hamptons 1980s. Decent keepers, reasonable defence but never really consistent enough going forward. That's my memory of it anyway! Interesting to see Dave Pearce in the opposition line up...he later play...

Very easy...there's a huge car park out the back.

Eastbourne away...first league game

Anyone going to this? With the summer holidays in full swing, (bonjour from France) no news of a supporter's coach, and a train strike scheduled (no idea how trains to the coast are affected) it looks like driving is the only option for most, so I'm guessing there won't be that many Hampton supporte...

Uxbridge must have had some team if they beat that.
Uxbridge were always tough opponents back then. Don't really remember any of their players except they might have had a young Mark Gill in their side who later joined us. A very decent player.

Re: Those Were The Days; 29th July 1986

They were the days of many more locally based players who would stay with the club for some years. Apart from the obvious ones like Chesh, Dicko and Hollands, Freddie Wilson was a player who mainly played in the reserves but would get a very occasional game in the first team and never let anyone dow...

Re: HVFC/HRBFC Memorial game tonight...

Let's not pretend why Sam Cox has been approached, as he was months ago. He is was a new big character in the latest series of Ted Lasso. If he signs, just wait for the "Armando signs" crap on social media. Jamie I haven't seen any of the Ted Lasso series and have no interest in doing so....

Re: HVFC/HRBFC Memorial game tonight...

Josh has a definite point, and the mantra of all managers and coaches that's wheeled out at this time of year is that it's not about results, it's about getting minutes. Yeah alright but although we've signed what are clearly some very good players on paper we still look like an underperforming and ...

Re: HVFC/HRBFC Memorial game tonight...

Lacklustre about sums that game up. Our only moment of real class came from Hall's equalising free kick. Only one friendly left, I sincerely hope we'll be ready for the start of the season proper.

Re: News of former players

Should have kept Barzey, maybe a highly incentivised pay as you play deal That's definitely the only basis on which I would have kept him. He was very good last pre-season as well but ended up missing for weeks at a time. Can look decent on occasion but very little genuine end product, although giv...
