Re: News of former players

Should have kept Barzey, maybe a highly incentivised pay as you play deal That's definitely the only basis on which I would have kept him. He was very good last pre-season as well but ended up missing for weeks at a time. Can look decent on occasion but very little genuine end product, although giv...

Re: Beaconsfield friendly

A couple of names mentioned but not sure if the club would want them revealed. Then there seemed to be flood of players some of whom quite likely won’t be seen again. James Comley did come on as well as did one of the Academy lads who played at Met Pol and Pitblado the trialist. Dontaye Whittaker w...

Re: Those Were The Days; 23rd July 2002

Ah, the Ian McDonald era. Some good players in that line up too. Pity he didn't sign many of them... although a very experienced coach he was completely unsuited to managing us with our budgetary restrictions at the time and we ended up being absolutely dreadful that season, deservedly being relegat...

Re: Those Were The Days; 20th July 2004

Good squad that. Dev's early days. Even just the subs would have made a competent first team that probably would have held its own in the league.

Re: Met Police friendly tonight.

Just a personal view but I would like to see something closer to the starting XI in the next game. Only three PSFs left and not much time to get the key players used to each other before the season starts in earnest. As much as we want to encourage the Academy lads I doubt they will feature in the ...

Re: Met Police friendly tonight.

1-1. Usual pre season fare...Met Police won't pull up many trees this season but didn't look as bad as might have been expected given their financial situation. We looked a bit more purposeful in the second half, Seymour and Bloomfield look like proper forwards but let's gloss over the untortunate P...

Re: Met Police friendly tonight.

We didn't seem to play any recognised forwards in the first half, but no, ee didn't make that many chances.
Bloomfield and Seymour both on for the second half...

Re: Those Were The Days; 17th July 2008

We had a fantastic squad then, in which was probably my favourite era of supporting the club. We went so close in two playoff finals and really were consistently hard to beat. Dev was easily our best manager in my view. That was a very strong West Ham side too...and it was a very weird game for thos...

Re: Ashford Town Friendly

Four trialists, all young. Three midfield and one defender. Murray ex Reading, Pitblado ex QPR, Sanchez from USA and Drake - Thomas ex Colchester. Pitblado had a loan at Cheshunt and is the defender. Await comments! My young assistant reckons Murray is very local and was in the year below him at sc...

Re: Around the grounds…

And in the NLS Truro have tweeted this morning saying work has started on a new ground to the west of Truro. Hoping to be in the new ground next season. Is that the site that they have been trying to build on for years (Stadium for Cornwall) and is for Cornish Pirates, Rugby Union? I don't think th...
