Re: Concord away

Listening to Mel he felt we did well for the first 40 minutes. He is giving the whole squad a chance and this will help him form opinions for the future. It would not surprise me if he performs a similar selection policy at Welling. If so, then he can tell everyone he has given them opportunity to re...

Re: Concord away

This shows how thin the squad is and that the majority of the fringe players are not up to standard. Roll on next season with what we hope will be a much stronger and deeper squad. Hopefully we will field a stronger team in the final two games. I am sure Mel will not let the home supporters down wit...

Currently all four bottom teams are winning, the three above are losing! Makes an interesting afternoon and final week!

Concord away

Much changed team with several fringe players given a chance. Mel did promise this. Julian, Gray, Donaldson, Whittingham, Thomas on the bench.

Not sure if some of the other relegation candidates would be that happy.

Re: New season

Whilst he remains a good keeper, Alan Julian is now over 40 and as we saw last season, he will be more prone to injury. I saw he is carrying out club ambassador duties, like yesterday at a school, and wondered if he might continue this combined with keeper coaching role funded in part through the Ac...

Re: New season

I too share you optimism. It will of course, revolve around the amount of playing budget that is available to the manager. We have a manager who has spent all of his coaching time at a higher level than us and whose contract list lies there. From what has been said previously it would seem he would ...

Re: Those Were The Days; 20th April 1985

It might be down to marketing strategies. A team playing attractive football helps.

Re: Relegation issues settled?

Concord beat Dartford tonight 3-2. Saturday will be that more difficult. Dartford will be more difficult next Saturday.

Re: Relegation issues settled?

Concord entertain Dartford tonight. Dowse says he wants four more points to secure second spot. Ideally if they get three tonight and point on Saturday (home to St Albans) then they might be thinking of resting players on their visit to us?

Re: I was thinking about......

Think many us especially the older supporters still think of Hampton as the name of the club. Clubs do change names but retaining the Hampton bit would be essential for many folk.
